Interesting genus from high altitudes in Peru! During summer, there will be both snow and rain but temperature rarely drops below -5C. In winter, it is very dry and sunny with very cold nights, sometimes -12C. In cultivation it is important not keeping them below -5C if it is too humid. In summer they thrives outside.
Seeds germinate slowly, sometimes after many months, so you need some patience, however worth waiting for! Sowing in pots outside where temperature vary will give better result. Temporarily soaked substrate might also trigger the germination.
